I've found that most beer bars are very pushy when it comes to hanging out in these bars. Especially in Phuket, the girls first words out of their mouth when you come at least 10 feet away from their bar is, "Sit down and have a drink." The next one is, you buy me a drink for me and my friends."
One of the reasons why the Phuket women are so pushy with you spending money is that it is very expensive to live in Phuket and they have to work many hours to pay for their expenses. Pattaya being alot less expensive to live, I've found the girls to be a little more human and sweeter to the guys. Yes, there are very pushy girls in every bar and massage place but not as many in Pattaya as there are in Phuket.
